Prescription medicine such as antihistamines contains a drug known as sodium cromolyn that prevents the production of histamine which causes allergies. Prescription medicine may not be a cure for everyone, but it' certainly a reliever and short term process to recovery.

Change the diet and include more nutritious supplements as one way of food allergy cure. Your diet should be free from all the foods that are presumed to cause the food allergies. If possible, eliminate the foods completely. For people who have multiple food allergies, it is important to have a rotating diet. Such people may have mild food allergies with certain foods while they may suffer from acute ones with others. A rotation diet will help reduce the exposure of these foods thus better tolerance.

Bicarbonate preparations such as Tri-salts are very helpful. Usually, a lot of acid is secreted when one has an allergy. Bicarbonate sodas are alkaline and help reduce acidity in the blood hence preventing adverse allergic reactions. Frequent use however, will weaken stomach acid. The stomach and lower esophageal sphincter can only function with the presence of hydrochloric acid, at a pH not lower than 3.0.

Immunotherapy is a food allergy cure that is not very common, but very effective. It involves injection of small quantities of the substances one is allergic to. This is done with the intension of neutralizing the patient' reaction to these foods. This type of treatment should be administered for a while or till the patient is less sensitive to the particular allergen. Patients should continue frequent tests to show the level of performance of the reaction.
