As you all know mosquitoes are insects that fly and bite. But for the record only female mosquito can fee on people, mainly because she needs a lot of blood for her to be able to produce a lot of eggs. When a female mosquito bites the skin of a human, she then injects saliva which contains a lot of different proteins which will prevent the clotting of the blood, and for the blood to keep of flowing into the mouth of the mosquito. A lot of the saliva of the mosquito which contain proteins can definitely cause our immune system to react such as some mosquito allergy reactions. But people have different ways of reacting to the saliva of the mosquito and these symptoms often vary. Sometimes the skin might get itchy or swelling and these types of reactions tend to lessen after the biting of the mosquito occurs.

Skeeter syndrome

This is where a person may experience a bump which is red in color and is very itchy. There are also some rashes that are blistering, swelling and some bruises. People who have been experiencing large swelling are being diagnosed with skeeter syndrome. These people may also experience the so called anaphylaxis after the mosquito bite, while some may also experience angiodema and uritecara or which is also known as the symptoms of asthma.

Usually people who are frequently in the outdoors are the ones who are always bitten by these mosquitoes. People who have a low immunity to mosquitoes are the one that are also at risk, especially visitors to a specific new place, children and such. People who have immunodeficiencies such as cancer, aids, lymphomas, leukaemia's and such are also at big risk of mosquito allergy. These studies have been made based on the RAST or the skin test using the body extract of the mosquito.

Now, if you don't want to be bitten by mosquitoes then you should take extra precautions, such as applying lotions with insect repellent, cleaning your surroundings for the mosquitoes to not have a place to live and to be born. You can also put some screens on your windows and doors to prevent these mosquitoes from invading your home and to prevent having mosquito allergy
