Most common food allergies are preventable and there is no need to panic.
Most common food allergies are caused by the things that we
love. The bad news is that most common food allergies come in many
forms where your body system just reacts negatively towards a certain
kind of food altogether. A lot of people in the world suffer from the
most common food allergies time and again and the good news is that
allergies rarely kill. Rather, they go away on their own once the
offending food substance is removed. One of the ways in which to avoid
the most common food allergies is by avoiding the allergens because at
times the hypersensitivity can be too much and may make you go down
for a few days.
An allergy is a medical condition that causes the body to react
negatively towards the allergen, that is, the allergy causing things
when the body comes into contact with them by touch, ingestion or
smelling. They cause hypersensitivity in the body and the victim might
fall ill until the harmful substance gets out of his/her
system. Allergies come in many natures and forms and they manifest
themselves in many kinds of illnesses that are cured once the allergen
is out of the system. Some people are allergic to hay and therefore
when they pass close and breath in the flying pollens, their bodies
react negatively. This may be characterized by wheezing, sneezing or
coughing.
Most of the food related allergies that are known in the world
today are mostly found in packaged foodstuffs and refined foods. You
should carefully read the food labels before you buy and know the
ingredients used because even a slight percentage of the allergen
might make the allergic person ill. Other food allergies are caused by
the allergen coming into contact with the other foods. To avoid this,
keep the allergic person' food away from the foods that contain the
allergens as bacteria may as well fly from one to the other, causing a
reaction.
When dining together with allergic people, keep them away from the
other foods and avoid skin contact as even a touch of the allergen
bearing fingers on the skin may trigger an allergic attack. Always
wash your hands carefully before preparing the allergen free foods and
wash all the utensils and the cutlery thoroughly too. You never know
how much of an allergen is supposed to trigger an attack. The other
option that is even better is to have the family adjust their eating
habits altogether to avoid the allergens for the sake of that one
family member.
