Sun Allergies

Sun allergies are regular allergies occur to many people. This actually happens when our immune system responses to a substance, which is usually harmless. The people who are photosensitive are prone to these allergies. Some forms of heat or sun allergies may be inherited in some people. Rashes, blisters or hives appear on the parts of skin that are exposed to sunlight.

There are two types of allergies usually one is solar urticaria and polymorphous light eruption. In both forms of sun allergies there are skin disorders. If you are facing PMLE you may feel chill, headache along with nausea. Face and around the lips rashes are more pronounced. Solar utricaria results in small reddish bumps. Hives appear on exposed skin within a few minutes.

Sun Allergies

Some cream that you have applied on the skin and then skin got exposed to the direct sunlight may cause allergy. Mostly outside areas of arms, back of the hands, v area of neck and the lower legs are affected by sunlight. If the rashes are on those areas too that are unexposed to the sun see your doctor at once. Unconsciousness, facial swelling and difficulty in breathing are more alarming. It can also cause a painful combination that could be in reaction to the exposure of skin to sun.

Sun Allergies

A person can also feel like sun poisoning if he or she is out too long in the sun. It can make a person feel sick and upset. Itching and redness are also symptoms of sun allergy. Some exposure to sunlight is necessary but too much sunlight can be harmful. Some popular medications such as diuretics or birth control pills can also result in photosensitivity. Sun allergy is not necessarily caused by exposure to sun but it can occur by hot showers too. You must see your doctor if there are any symptoms and ask for medication. You may need some photo tests to diagnose the allergy.

Sun Allergies

You have to keep yourself safe against sunlight if you are photosensitive and avoid exposure to sunlight. Between 11 am to 3 pm rays of sunlight are strongest. 15 minutes are adequate to produce vitamin D. You are restricted to go outdoors and enjoy sunshine. You must apply heavy layer of sun block and moisture while going outside and seek for some shelter from sun and heat. Drink lots of water when you are out in sun to keep you healthy. Fabrics such as polyester help you protect your body against harmful rays of sun. Wear long sleeves shirts with long pants. Wide brimmed hats, sunglasses and umbrellas should be used to avoid sunlight.
